The older I get the more I value letting go. We’re all taught processes that we view as steps. Steps are great way of organizing your process. Some steps you value more than others. And some are only as necessary as you make them. Tight pencils use to be a chain around my neck. I always felt they made the inking stage much more difficult because I was so worried about sticking to the pencil. Now I create way more loosely all the way up to the very last second. Keeping my lines more frenetic and full of energy. So look at your process and take the time to think on it. Is this of real value or is it holding you back.
